Overview
Al-Balawi (al-Balawī) is the classical nisba of the tribe of Bali — the sources expressly note that the nisba to Baliyy is 'Balawī'. It is borne by early narrators in the biographical works and is widespread today in the northwestern Hijaz.
Note
Bearing a tribal nisba does not by itself establish a specific line of descent; families should verify their own documented lineage.
