Overview

Al-Mazrouei (al-Mazrūʿī) is, in the UAE, the nisba of the Mazari' — reported as one of the sections of the Bani Yas confederation. A family of the same nisba has a separate, well-documented history in Oman and East Africa, where the Mazrui governed Mombasa for generations.

Note

The same nisba can belong to distinct lines in different regions. Bearing it does not by itself establish a specific descent; families should verify their own documented lineage.
