Overview
Al-Thaqafi (al-Thaqafī) is the classical nisba of Thaqif, the tribe of Taif. It is among the best-attested nisbas in early Islamic biographical literature and remains common in the Taif region and the Hijaz.
Note
Bearing a tribal nisba does not by itself establish a specific line of descent; families should verify their own documented lineage.
