Overview
Al-Hadhrami (al-Ḥaḍramī) is the nisba of Hadhramaut in southern Yemen — a regional nisba, not a tribal one. It is attested from the earliest Islamic generations, and the Hadhrami diaspora of scholars and traders carried it to India, Southeast Asia, East Africa and the Gulf.
Note
A regional nisba tells you a family's association with a land, not a single line of descent; families should verify their own documented lineage.
