Overview
Al-Yami (al-Yāmī) is the nisba of the tribe of Yam of the Najran region. It is an old nisba attested for narrators in the classical biographical works, and remains concentrated in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

Bearing a tribal nisba does not by itself establish a specific line of descent; families should verify their own documented lineage.
